The Christian home is a center of worship: Bible-centred worship of God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; they show reverence to God in all aspects of their lives, they obey Jesus as Lord, and the Bible is their Magna Carta. They have set time for individual and family devotion and worship. And they join other believers in fellowship and worship in a Bible-believing church that “preaches Christ crucified”. The church in the Home is the pillar of the church in the Church. The Christian family lives in obedience to Christ and its members especially are committed to the duties and responsibilities of its members as Christian in general and husband, wife, children, and household in particular as commanded by the word of God such as in Eph. 5:21- 6:9, Joshua 1:8.

Its Lord: Jesus Christ – the home by, on with, and for Christ with all “submitting to one another out of Reverence for Christ” (Eph. 5:21). This translates into faith, abiding in him, the Bible as its Magna Carta and in all the things the will of Jesus is supreme. The Christian family is a family by Christ, on Christ with Christ, and for Christ: We must avoid getting rid of the content of the word Christian. Nothing is Christian, which is not by, on, with, and for Christ. I will limit the family here to a household made up of a Christian married couple, their offspring, and those who are under their roof. Brother/Sister: (Songs of Songs 4:10) “How beautiful are your love, my sister, my bride (song of Songs 5:1) Friend: “This is my beloved and this is my friend” (Songs of Songs 5:16) Beloved /Bride: (Songs of song 3:16) “My beloved is mine and I am his”. (Songs of songs 4:10) “How beautiful are you my sister, my bride.

 I want to address three things about Christian marriage and family life,: In so doing I know I will disappoint some who may want me to dwell more on marriage, the family, or parenting in detail. But to do so will be at the expense of a broader overview. My aim is not to be a powerful preacher, which Teacher Adei is not. I hear that at the end of the day, some will commit to the great pursuit of Christian marriage, home, family, and parenting, the greatest calling for over 90% of people who are not those called to special duties like the prophets and apostles of old.
