Excellence is first an attitude and a state of mind: You need to cultivate an excellent mentality and heart for “as a man thinketh in his heart so is he”. Often in Ghana that requires becoming independent of culture which has a low new of marriage.
Secondly excellence must do with vision translated into standards: Your vision and standards define what is excellent to you. That is where the Christian has an advantage: We have the revealed mind and will of God for us in all realms of life! In marriage, nothing is loftier than Genesis 2:24,25. Expanded on in passages such as Matt 19:3-12 and Eph. 5:21-33
Excellence requires what it takes in knowledge and skills to achieve the “Utmost for His Highest”.
It often requires some resources but not “OPM” or other people’s money. Leaders generate their resources. To be excellent as a Christian requires tapping into a divine resources-spiritual belt of intellectual and material.
Excellence to the Christian is a declaration of faith – Christian excellence is a partnership with God drawing on his divine resources to accomplish his purpose. “I can do all things through (Christ) who strengthens me” (Ph.4:13).
